The District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency celebrated its 40^th year of serving the housing needs of Washington, D.C. residents in 2019. The DCHFA was established on March 3, 1979 to stimulate and expand homeownership and rental housing opportunities in the District. During its 40 years, the Agency has funded the development of more than 50,000 units of affordable housing throughout the District’s eight wards. In Fiscal Year 2019, the Agency’s issuer credit rating was raised to “A+” with a “stable” outlook, according to Standard and Poor’s (S&P).
